Natural Organic Hair Straightening Methods Could Replace Cancer-Causing Commercial Hair Relaxers
Black women are throwing away their chemical hair straighteners
Wednesday, March 1, 2023 - Black women are throwing away their chemical hair straighteners, canceling their beauty salon appointment, and starting to use natural, organic hair straightening methods instead. It is surprising how many natural, organic methods there are for relaxing curly and kinky hair and eliminating frizziness. Cosmetics companies have always known that a woman would be better off using natural hair straighteners but made more money selling products that contain carcinogens like lye, phthalates, and formaldehyde. Companies like LOreal are now paying the price as hundreds of women who have developed hair relaxer cancer allegedly from using commercial hair relaxer products have filed hair relaxer lawsuit claims. HealthShots.com recently published an article with celebrity dermatologist and aesthetic physician, Dr. Ajay Rana who that lists nine ways women can straighten their hair using inexpensive, natural, organic products in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. In an article titled, " Frizzy hair freaking you out? Try these 9 hacks to straighten hair naturally at home" the online beauty expert tells readers she has the solution to straightening hair without using chemicals or even heating tools. Dr. Rana warns clients that chemicals in chemical hair relaxers and straighteners can damage their hair, not only during the application but also when a person goes out and is exposed to direct sunlight.
Dr. Rana's first recommendation to replace chemical hair straighteners is with milk and honey. Milk and honey can be mixed together in a glass and poured into a pump sprayer to be applied to the hair after every shampoo. The formula is left in the hair for a few minutes like any chemical conditioner would be, and then rinsed out. A second alternative to chemical hair straighteners is a banana, honey, yogurt, and olive oil mixture. Overripe bananas are mashed with honey, yogurt, and olive oil into a paste and then applied to the hair in layers similar to the application of commercial hair straighteners. Cover the hair with a shower cap and leave it on for half an hour to an hour. " All the ingredients are great food for your weak and undernourished hair, and will make your hair healthy, shiny, and also straight," Dr. Rana tells readers. A third method that the Dr.says readers will benefit from is to make an aloe vera, olive oil, rosemary oil, and sandalwood oil mixture. "Blend half cup each of aloe vera gel and warm olive oil. Also, you can mix in six drops each of rosemary oil and sandalwood oil. Massage the mixture into the hair and scalp, allowing it to penetrate through your hair strands. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for about one to two hours. Wash off the pack with a mild shampoo, following it up with a conditioner." HealthShots.com also lists olive oil and eggs, rice flour, fuller's earth, egg white, coconut milk and lemon Juice, and Soybean Oil As other ways to achieve naturally straight and well-nourished hair.
